of neteye°° liked to update their Homepage. We took the
chance to implement an up to date serverside software architecture,
the J2EE based 'neteye°° Publishing Framework'. This Homepage
comes in a Flash and HTML version as well as in German and English.
IBM's DB2 database stores all the information. Of course there is
an interface (HTML based) to insert and update all the content. The
connection to the data in the Flash movies is the job of Macromedias
Generator.

Basically
this framework sits onto any J2EE compatible Application Server: Scalability
and platform independence had been two important goals. So there is
a model-view-controller (MVC) communication between the presentation
tier and application tier, using the Apache Struts framework.
In between the application tier and the information tier
the Castor JDO O/R-Mapping Layer comes to work. A nice and understandable
documentation exists, too.

which they nowadays are able to connect with Java in between the frontend
and the information in a database. CoX - maybe it sounds better then
'K/Plex RedaktionsTool' - like I called it. Anyway, it was first developed
and tested for the Plexgroup Homepage.
All this was intensively documented, too.
